What else might you need to know?

Do we need to bring our own bed linen and towels?

Linens are provided and beds are fully made up for your arrival. One bath and hand towel are provided per person. Tea towel, hand towel and oven glove are provided in the kitchen.

Where can we buy food?

There is a well stocked small shop in the centre of Askrigg where you can purchase all the essentials including fresh fruit and veg, daily newspapers plus logs and kindling. For a big shop, you may want to arrange delivery from one of the larger supermarkets. Dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and washing powder are provided at the cottage.

How do we find you?

Brook Cottage is located on the north side of Askrigg, as you enter the village (from the Hawes side) head for the Crown Inn on Main Street, when the road bends to the right towards Leyburn, carry straight on, this is Moor Road. If arriving into Askrigg from the Leyburn side, just as the road bends to the left in front of The Crown, turn right, this is Moor Road (signposted to Muker).

Where do we park?

Parking is available in the area opposite Brook Cottage (by Thornshill B&B) or on the street directly outside Brook Cottage. There is also a free car park on Leyburn Road, 100 yards away.

Will my mobile phone work?

Mobile phone coverage is limited in Askrigg. O2 has virtually no signal, EE has the best service, but you may still experience problems. Vodafone and Three have limited signal.

Is is suitable for small children?

Sorry, children must be over 5 (we are unable to fit stair gates making it unsuitable for little ones).

Where can we do washing?

A washing machine is provided in the kitchen (with washing powder), a clothes airer, ironing board and iron are also available.

What the arrival and departure times?

Unless otherwise agreed you can arrive anytime from 3.00pm on the day of arrival and need to leave by 10.00am on the day of departure to give us time to get everything clean and ready for the next guests.

Is WiFi available?

Unlimited Internet is freely available.
